Getting a Move On [Ilias, G’zpacho]

Ilias nodded a bit. “Yeah…you could say that. I think we’re doing fine now. G’zpacho wanted me to meet you.”

Ilias thought over a few things. What did Althea think of him? She was interesting enough, and seemed nice as well. But why did Ilias feel like he needed to impress her, or something? He idly scratched his cheek, reminded that magic wasn’t a way to impress her right now. He coughed a bit, and looked out over to Windhelm. “So, uh, you live there? Must be good for G’zpacho, since you can let him into the city easier.”

G’zpacho nodded along with Ilias. “We are well, mhm. Uhm, this one wants to show you something, but can we go to your house perhaps?”

Althea started walking towards the city gates upon G’zpacho’s request, but looked over at Ilias as she spoke. “Yep, I’ve lived here for awhile now. So Pacho told you about how he was kicked out with my cousin?” She shook her head. “It does help that I live here, I suppose. Usually the guards don’t argue with me.” A grin grew on her face as she led them to her house. Once inside, G’zpacho pulled out the Lexicon and sphere and handed them to Althea. She examined them for a moment before glancing up. “These are Dwemer, huh? Where’d you find these?”

Ilias scratched his head a bit. “Er, well, G’zpacho got them, actually. Somewhere north of the College.” He shrugged a bit. He wasn’t actually sure where G’zpacho found them.

He looked around the house a bit. “This is a really nice house. Must have taken forever to save up the money for…” He looked at the furnishings with a bit of a jealous twinge to his thoughts. He wanted to have a house like this one one day, here in Windhelm.

Ilias looked up at this new woman, and waved a bit. “The name’s Ilias. Ilias Residen. I’m a friend of G’zpacho’s.” He eyed the tree strangely. “Something you needed up there?”

He looked over to G’zpacho a bit. “Your friend is…very interesting, from the looks of it…”

“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Ilias. I’m Althea, also a friend of G’zpacho’s.” She looked back at the tree and laughed. “Nope, I was just climbing it for fun.”

G’zpacho smiled at Ilias’s comment. “She is a good interesting, mhm. So, Althea, how have you been?”

Althea gave a small shrug, silently looking over both the Khajiit and Nord. They seemed… tired, worn. But from what? “Can’t complain,” she replied, crossing her arms loosely. “And you two? How have you been? By the looks if it, you look somewhat tired.”

Ilias stepped back a bit, slightly shocked. Was that true? Did G’zpacho mean it the way he thought he did? His mouth became dry, and he tried to respond.

“I-if that’s so, then…I don’t know what to say…I…don’t have anything against that, but…” He swallowed dryly, trying to find the right words. “…I’m not sure if I feel the same way about you…yet…I know I’m feeling something, and it could be that, but…I’m not sure what it is yet. I want to…think about it for a while. Right now, let’s…let’s just go meet your friend at Windhelm. After that, we can talk about this more…”

He nodded slightly, to confirm what he was saying. “I promise.”

G’zpacho wrung his hands anxiously, but gave a small nod. He didn’t have any words, though. His heart was still racing, beating against his chest as though it would burst out. “Alright,” he managed to say, “Let us go, then..”

The sun was in the middle of the sky when they arrived near Windhelm. And fortunately, Althea was outside the city, climbing up a tree. The Khajiit chuckled lightly before calling out, “Althea!”

The blonde looked down with a grin before leaping out of the tree. “Hey Pacho!” She peered over at Ilias. “And you are?”

Ilias swallowed a hard lump. “Well…you see…I asked about that ‘fate’ stuff because I’m wondering something myself, lately. You see…I’ve been…”

He fell silent for a moment, and stopped walking at the same time. “I’ve been…feeling things. Things I don’t fully understand yet. I’m not sure if I was meant to feel these things, because fate decided it or something, or if something is causing these feelings…”

He scratched his neck, slowly becoming nervous. “I mean, you might have noticed by now, but…well, the way I feel about you has been…really strange, lately…”

G’zpacho’s tail stopped flicking, falling still behind him. His heart started to race once again, just as it had the night before. Everything Ilias was saying seemed to fall in line with his own emotions.

At the Nord’s last comment, G’zpacho crossed his arms nervously, ears twitching slightly. “H-he, uh…” He clears his throat, eyes wandering to the ground. “His feelings are, uhm, strange as well…”

Another silence passed. What should he say next? Should he come out of his little shell, be the one who lays it all out? He took a deep breath, and glanced up at Ilias. “H-he… likes you… mhm…”

Ilias stepped back a bit, slightly shocked. Was that true? Did G’zpacho mean it the way he thought he did? His mouth became dry, and he tried to respond.

"I-if that’s so, then…I don’t know what to say…I…don’t have anything against that, but…" He swallowed dryly, trying to find the right words. Ilias put a hand on G’zpacho’s shoulder. “Sorry…I shouldn’t have asked that. I’m just…confused and worried about things lately. Especially about…” He trailed off again. “No, nevermind. That’s not important…”

He stopped though. “But…uh, I dunno…G’zpacho, I have another question, and it’s kinda strange. But, uh…well, what am I allowed to say to you? I mean, what would make you mad, or disturbed, or scared, or sad? Basically, can I say anything to you? Or should I watch my words more carefully?”

“Uh…” G’zpacho stopped as well, thinking carefully about Ilias’s question. Rarely did he get offended by other people’s words. Nords usually insulted him, both because he was a mage and because he was a Khajiit. Words were words.

His tail flicked slightly. “You can tell G’zpacho anything. Erm, he cannot think of what would anger him or anything… But he will always listen to what you say, mhm.” He smiled a bit up at Ilias, hoping to reassure him.

Ilias swallowed a hard lump. “Well…you see…I asked about that ‘fate’ stuff because I’m wondering something myself, lately. You see…I’ve been…”

Getting a Move On [Ilias, G’zpacho]

Ilias shrugged. “Well…I dunno. Sometimes I wonder if things happen because they were supposed to, or if they happen because we cause them. Like…were we supposed to meet? Or did you choose to help me on the road, without anything setting it up? Were we supposed to become friends, or did I choose to open up to you? Did this tattoo appear on my face because it was destined, or did someone choose to put it there? Did…you fall at Alftand because the Divines saw for it to happen, or…did me giving you my mace cause it…?” He trailed off, feeling sick inside.

G’zpacho slowed, looking up at Ilias. “Well…” he started before falling silent. Was there really an answer for those questions? The answer was only speculation, something based on one’s beliefs. Not a solid, true answer. “…This one does not know… It… could be both.” His bright blue eyes wandered for a moment before returning to Ilias’s face. “Maybe… Maybe we shouldn’t worry about how something happens, and focus on what exactly happens, hm? Khajiit means… It was good that we met, no? It does not matter what was behind us meeting, whether it was the Divines or us. We just met… Oh, he does not know if that makes sense..”

Ilias put a hand on G’zpacho’s shoulder. “Sorry…I shouldn’t have asked that. I’m just…confused and worried about things lately. Especially about…” He trailed off again. “No, nevermind. That’s not important…”

Getting a Move On [Ilias, G’zpacho]

Ignoring the obviously grinning innkeeper, Ilias ran after G’zpacho hurriedly. “Hey, whoa, watch it there! You’re becoming a bit too fast for me…” He caught up to G’zpacho and fell to his pace. “You need to at least wait for me a bit…”

He sighed and shrugged his armor around. “I have to admit, it’s surprising that you’re allowed in Windhelm. Most other Khajiit aren’t.”

He kept walking alongside G’zpacho silently, just taking in the cold air contentedly, when a small question formed in his mind.

“Hey, G’zpacho, do you believe in fate?”

“Oh, uh, sorry,” G’zpacho apologized, a slight sheepish grin appearing on his face. His body felt quite a bit better than before, and he hardly realized how fast he was walking.

The grin only widened when Windhelm was mentioned. “Oh, heh. Johnny and G’zpacho were kicked out of Windhelm… But when he is with Althea, it is okay. She is a Thane, mhm.” Althea always made sure to keep him close in the city. And with her established relationship with Ulfric, her Khajiit companion was alright there.

G’zpacho’s ears twitched at Ilias’s question. “Fate…? Uhm… Everything happens for a reason, hm? At least, that is what this one thinks. So, yes. Why do you ask?”

Ilias nodded. “Yeah. I just need to get dressed into my armor and pick up my stuff. We should be ready to head out soon enough after that.”

He finished off his food (within a few quick bites) and began dressing himself up in his armor. He reached for his maces, hooking them onto his belt, and looked over to G’zpacho. “I don’t know what this Althea person is like, but I hope she approves of me. It would be a downer if she didn’t.” He chuckled a bit, but then rethought his words. The way he said it made it seem like he needed permission or something from her to be G’zpacho’s friend. He shook off the thought, though, and picked up his things and put them away in his bag.

G’zpacho dressed in his robes and looked through his bag, just making sure he had everything. “This one thinks she will, mhm. She is very nice, indeed.” His face fell slightly. If Althea found out about him falling, what would she think? Hopefully she wouldn’t blame Ilias for any of it.

Clearing his throat, the Khajiit smiled a bit after everything was together. “Alright, let us go!” He left the room, thanked the innkeeper and headed out in the snow. It was a surprisingly clear day, though a snowstorm must have passed through the night before. G’zpacho started down the path, looking behind him to make sure Ilias was following.

Ilias stopped scratching G’zpacho for a moment. “Did you just squeak? You’re not ticklish there, are you?” He instead went back to scratching his ears. “Sorry about that then. I’m fine, thanks for asking. Feeling a lot better…I think I could probably make it to Windhelm no problem. Any further than that…well, I dunno. But you said before that you wanted me to meet your friend, right? And she lives there? Shouldn’t be a problem.”

He stopped scratching and patted him on the back. He realized that he was still technically cuddling with G’zpacho, and felt a bit embarrassed by it. He nonchalantly dislodged himself from the embrace and stretched out a bit, sitting up and pulling his arms over his head. After that, he relaxed and looked down at G’zpacho for a moment. “So…uh…I’ll go get things to eat.”

He stood up carefully, and confidently took a step forward. Luckily, it wasn’t that bad for him. Nodding a bit, he kept going forward and finally left the room to get G’zpacho and himself some breakfast. He came back in with some cooked chicken, two apples and a cabbage for G’zpacho. He placed the food on the bed and dug into his own portion.

When Ilias returned with food, G’zpacho smiled as he started to eat the cabbage. At least the Nord was walking better. An improvement over stumbling everywhere. “Ah, yes,” the Khajiit replied, “Althea lives in Windhelm. She should be over there, he thinks.”

Althea usually was around Windhelm. At least, that’s what G’zpacho thought. Maybe he should have wrote her the day before. That way she would know they would be heading that direction. But it was too late for that. They would just have to see if she was close.

Once finished with his cabbage, G’zpacho yawned again and stood, stretching his arms. “This one will get ready for our trip, yes?”

Ilias nodded. “Yeah. I just need to get dressed into my armor and pick up my stuff. We should be ready to head out soon enough after that.”

He finished off his food (within a few quick bites) and began dressing himself up in his armor. OOC: So I guess I’m going to have to leave RPing for a bit…maybe longer.

My mother told me that she thinks I RP too much, so she’s threatened me with this: Either stop RPing, or she won’t co-sign the loan for my college tuition.

Frankly, I’m really fucking pissed. To think that she’s going to rip me away from a bunch of people that I really like and enjoy being with, that’s total bullshit.

But I have no choice. I need to go to college. And she knows this. This is the most shittiest thing that’s happened to me involving my RP life so far. And I can’t stand it.

I’m going to be posting less and less over the next few days…just…trying to wind down and learn how to live without you guys. I mean, I can function just fine without you. I’m not dependent.

But when it’s summer, and there’s nothing else to do, then I’m going to really hate being away. I have no friends who can hang out with me right now. My phone is blocked by my parents because they want to keep me from calling weird people. And finally, but I have some good friends who are strictly online. And you know what? I really like you guys. A lot.

Now, I have to get off of the computer because she’s done another stupid thing and wants everyone in the house off of the computer by noon. I’m not going to enjoy this, but I have no choice.

Ilias woke up finally, seemingly earlier than before, and yawned quietly as he opened his eyes. It was surprisingly warm in the room, but it may have just been the Khajiit that was pressed up against him. He smiled the slightest bit and gently scratched G’zpacho behind the ears. “Hey there, Pacho…” He whispered carefully under his breath. “How are you doing?”

He rested his chin on top of G’zpacho’s head and scratched the Khajiit’s neck a bit. Ilias never really thought about how fluffy G’zpacho was. Now, Ilias was just a bit curious about how much fur he really had. Of course, that wasn’t his call to find out. Ilias had to keep reminding himself that just because they were hugging and cuddling with each other, it didn’t mean anything…did it?

G’zpacho would have glanced up at Ilias, but the Nord’s chin was on his head. It wasn’t unpleasant, though. The ear scratches were always welcome. “This one is well,” he murmured, snuggling just a bit closer. “How are you, hm?”

When Ilias scratched his neck, however, G’zpacho let out a little squeak and seemed to squirm a bit. He was quite ticklish… everywhere, it seemed. Nevertheless, a smile remained on his face and he continued to purr lightly. He just wiggled every now and then when he couldn’t stand the neck scratches.

Ilias stopped scratching G’zpacho for a moment. “Did you just squeak? You’re not ticklish there, are you?” He instead went back to scratching his ears. “Sorry about that then. When G’zpacho awoke the following morning, he blinked wearily and yawned. Ilias still seemed asleep from what he could tell. But for some reason, the Khajiit didn’t want to move. He was so warm and comfortable. He merely snuggled closer to the Nord, unable to fall back asleep.

Ilias woke up finally, seemingly earlier than before, and yawned quietly as he opened his eyes. It was surprisingly warm in the room, but it may have just been the Khajiit that was pressed up against him.
